KentishIzzie

This is a semi-organised dumping ground for some of the useful websites I've come across while online. Hope you get some use out of some these, or at the very least you learn something new!

HTML & CSS & Javascript

W3 Schools

The grandaddy of the web. I always check here when I don't know what the heck I'm doing with my code (which is most of the time lol).

Code Academy

Their free HTML and CSS courses are a good place to start if you know nothing about making a website.

RV's free Javascript/DHTML effects

Some incredibly silly scripts for your site, like flaming mouse trails! Pouring rain! What more could you want!?

Web Templates

Remember to credit the designer if you use any of these templates!

Eggramen

This person makes some great simple templates.

Zonelets

A blogging engine for neocities. Cute and easy to use.

Foollovers

This lovely site is where I got my site template from.

Magnus Themes

Tumblr themes! I've used a few from here in my time. Good for fansites.

Web Visuals

Half of this is ugly old stuff...... or it could be cute, depending on your personal aesthetics. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The 88x31 GIF Collection

Huge collection of retro 88x31 buttons from the 90s and 00s.

GifCities

An archive of millions of old gifs from the people who brought you archive.org. It's searchable!

Anthony's WWW Images

Charming website from 1995 with lots of buttons, bullet points and other fuctional visuals you might need when building a website (and you want the website to look like it's from 1995). I'm amazed it's still online!

Пиксельные иконки в "старом стиле" (Pixel Icons in the "Old style")

Russian Artist Dmitry Zamyatin (Acvarial) has created these gorgeous 32x32 pixel icons that could be straight from an 80s Macintosh. I don't think they're free, so please ask for his permission before you use them.

Bonnibel's Graphic Collection

Organised archive of 'kawaii' pixel gifs and graphics. Very kitch and pink but there are some weird gems if you really look!

LGBTQ+

Pronoun Dressing Room

Try out different pronouns and see what fits you best.

UK FTM Information

A blog run by transmen to help other transmen (and transmac NBs) transition in the UK.

FTM Guide

Old site full of practical info for transmen. (Might contain some outdated terminology.)

The Mx Thing

Brilliant hand-crafted list of UK companies that 'allow' you to be non-binary. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by how many there are!

Languages

Say Something In Welsh

Best way to learn Welsh bar actual classes. Difficult, but it really does work.

Tofugu's Hiragana Guide

Don't know hiragana yet? This'll help!

Anki

This is a sort of 'build your own duolingo' program. Seems daunting at first, but once you've got the ball rolling it's genuinely amazing.
